    • Our beloved "Willie" (Guillermo Ignacio) Mendez, age 58, was placed into the Loving Hands of Our Lord and the Heavens on Wednesday December 12, 2018. Willie, a native of San Antonio, was a graduate of Lee High School and UTSA. He recently retired from the Institute of Texan Cultures with over 28 years of service. As an cryptozoologist, Willie's passion was exploring the past, present and future of cultures that resided within the state of Texas. He also conducted extensive research on ghosts that existed at the Institute of Texan Cultures and was also a crypto- zoologist. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ramiro and Eugenia Mendez. He is survived by his wife Linda, sons Logan and Landon, his siblings, Gina Mendez, Richard Mendez (Sharon Dresser), Christine Aumann (Duane Aumann), Patricia Ramirez (Robert Ramirez), Norma Jean Schmitt (David Schmitt), Veronica Alexander (Mark Alexander) and many nephews and nieces. Willie was loved by many relatives, friends, and colleagues around the world
